#PalCrushMonday: Chris Bendrell

Yes, that Chris.

Howdy y’all! My name is Chris and I recently moved to Denver! I’m 27, a big fan of climbing, cooking, classic cinema, coffee, curly hair, and probably lots of other things that start with c. 

I met Mal on the ~ internet ~ and have enjoyed getting to know her and her illustrious newsletter! After a couple of dates that started with great conversation and ended in rowdy intercourse, I proceeded to totally ghost her because I was overwhelmed with life … 

AND still read her weekly editions of #MCM, which she totally called me out on last week. So here we are!

What I’m crushing

I have been climbing surprisingly well lately!

Yesterday I sent my hardest sport climb I have ever done outdoors (!), and earlier in the week I got up into the mountains where I found lots of snow! 

It was a great week in that sense, and I am cherishing the highs!

What’s crushing me

Dating, obviously. 

It’s been a struggle to really connect with people since I moved, and most of the time I feel like I don’t even have the energy or bandwidth to devote to getting to know people/dating. I’d love to move past the surface level, but sometimes it just feels exhausting to try to balance with everything else I’m trying to accomplish. 

Why do we have to be adults?

I would totally go on one of those reality TV dating shows I love to make fun of, if it meant free housing and getting paid to be dramatic. If there are any Love is Blind producers are reading this — slide into those DMs.

What I’m crushing on

Part of what has been keeping me busy/overwhelming me is trying to get a different job at my current workplace. I had an interview this week that went incredibly well, so fingers crossed! I feel like I just don’t vibe with some of my coworkers currently, and a change of pace would be amazing. 

Also, a little more change in my pocket to pay the mortgage on my new place would be welcomed. Speaking of — check out my dining room y’all! Finally living my interior design dreams-coming to an Airbnb near you Winter 2023. Maybe. If I get my life together.
